Driving Research Innovation Across Africa
Connecting researchers, universities, and industries to solve Africa’s most pressing challenges.
International Center for Applied Multidisciplinary Research (CIRMA)
Our mission is to support young researchers, strengthen scientific innovation, and foster collaboration between African and international institutions. Founded in 2025, the International Center for Applied Multidisciplinary Research (CIRMA) is a non-profit network created by;
Building Africa’s Future Through Research & Innovation
Across much of Africa, research struggles with limited innovation, scattered resources, and weak support systems. Young researchers often work in isolation without the structures or funding needed to thrive.
CIRMA was created to change this. By connecting universities, researchers, and innovators across Africa, we provide a collaborative platform that empowers young talent, strengthens higher education, and drives applied research that directly supports economic and social development.
What We Do
CIRMA supports Africa’s innovation ecosystem through advanced training, applied research, and international collaboration. Our objectives include doctoral and postdoctoral support, research project development, incubation of scientific results, and promoting global exchanges in science and technology.
Key Research Areas
We work through three Units of Training and Research (UFRs):
Innovation Sciences & Technologies (SITech)
Applied sciences, engineering, ICT, energy, environment.
Management Sciences & Innovation Management (SGeMI)
Business, economics, sustainability, project management.
Legal, Administrative & Political Sciences (SJAPI)
Innovation law, governance, public policy, and social inclusion.
Our Mission & Vision
CIRMA was founded in 2025 as a Pan-African hub for applied multidisciplinary research. Based in Kinshasa, DRC, the Center connects universities, young researchers, and innovators across Africa to promote collaboration, incubation, and knowledge transfer.
Our mission is to support scientific training and research that drives innovation and development. Our vision is an Africa where young talent, universities, and industries work together to create impactful solutions for communities and economies.
How CIRMA Works
CIRMA’s activities are organized into three Training and Research Units (UFR), each led by one of our founding universities:
Focus: applied sciences, engineering, and technological innovation.
Focus: innovation economics, strategy, and organizational management.
Focus: law, governance, and policy frameworks for innovation.
