Journal Summary

Innovative research has been helpful in designing and analyzing intelligent systems, in order to assist production, management and control systems, particularly through man-machine interactions and technologies adapted to the users to increase the yields of firms and their industries. Hence, basic engineering training systems are being sophisticated through innovative research that generates data and interprets correctly results to enlighten and enable quick decision-making by entrepreneurs and strategic managers. The acquisition of such advanced competences has finally improved biotechnologies applied to human and veterinary health and nutrition, genetics and biochemistry, to name but a few. Hence, CIRMA Innovation J. of Applied Science and Technology Annals (ASTA) promotes a diverse view of technological innovation with a strict adherence to and respect of key research protocols pertaining to engineering and technology to sustain life and environmental health as well as economic production systems in the African continent.

Journal description

CIRMA Innovation J. Applied Science and Technology Annals (ASTA) is a bilingual English-French journal dealing with issues of technological sustainability in the provision of food, shelter, health and other societal services, which production goes beyond natural ecosystem services.

History of the journal:

The journal started in 2015 as a bi-annual special French issue of Applied Science and Technology Annals, a IRGIB-Africa based local journal for engineers and engineering students (Benin), under the leadership of the General Manager Prof Dr. Eng. Virgile Ahyi (PhD, MSC, BSc.Eng) and the assistance of Prof Dr. Bertin Gbaguidi Youssaou (PhD, MSC, BSC Chemistry). It received support from international organizations, including CAMES, NYSC and the Nigerian Council University (NUC) as well as the Ministry for the national education of the Republic of Benin. The success of the previous successive editions laid a basis for the emergence of a full-fledged journal publication under the cover of CIRMA Innovation Journals (CIJ), supervised by Prof Dr. Cush Ngonzo Luwesi (Journal Manager), Prof. Dr. Eng. Virgile Ahyi (the Chief Editor) and Prof Dr. Bertin Gbaguidi Youssaou (the Associate Editor).

The focus and scope of the journal:

The improvement of civilization and human life is bound to that of science and technology, which are the fruitage of human innovation. The latter results from both experimental and monographic studies centered on applied sciences, technology and its innovations, which are in particular led the fields of agriculture, climatology, hydrology, physics, energy and machinery as well as other systems of production. These researches explain the interactions between the human life, environmental conditions and production systems in order to optimize the productivities of natural resources, on the one hand. In addition, recent interests in ICT, cybernetics and ergonomics have paved the way to new technologies.

CIRMA Innovation J. Applied Science and Technology Annals (ASTA) offers a diverse view of
technological innovation focusing on technology for businesses, economy, environment and health in the African setting. The following fields of innovations are to be considered:

  • Aquaculture, ecology, biotechnology and agri-food;
  • Veterinary engineering, bioanalysis and pharmaceuticals
  • Energy engineering (transition) and green building;
  • Automotive mechanics, road, naval, and aerospace engineering;
  • ICT, industrial engineering and maintenance
